Among the
economic activities belonging to the historical tradition of the
municipality of Radicondoli, one of the most important was the weaving
of wool. During 1300, from handicraft activity for domestic use,it
took on entrepreneurial characteristics, so that Radicondoli and
Belforte became the main centres for textile industry within
the Sienese State. This activity was so important that it had to
be regulated by a specific Charter.
On the
Farm there is an old wooden chassis , dating bach to
the ancient traditions of the commune, where occasionally
woolen articles can be woven even today, for those who are interested
in seeing the ancient weaving process.
